Conversing with and walking alongside: A workshop exploring the potential of writing with art
Workshop with Marsha Meskimmon.
This is a workshop for those scholars whose research includes a written engagement with ‘art’, defined broadly as visual, material, spatial and/or sonic works, environments, activist interventions and/or socially-engaged practices, etc. Whether your writing explores art from the perspective of art history/theory, visual/cultural studies, research-creation, or any other disciplinary ‘artistic turn’, how artworks and aesthetic practices are encountered through writing matters. The workshop will open with some thoughts on the conventions of art/writing and, in particular, the implications of shifting prepositions - from writing about art, to writing with or through art. After time for questions and discussion, the session will focus on some practical, participatory exercises.
Seats are limited - please sign up by sending an email to pass@hum.ku.dk.
